Help with your garden

What do you need help with?

Find your situation and go straight to the right service. If you are unsure, we can talk it through on the phone instead.

What counts as garden help?

Garden help is the collective name for the practical work in a garden that someone else carries out for you: mowing grass and trimming hedges, pruning and felling trees, weeding, raking leaves, planting, watering and taking the waste away. With us it also covers window cleaning and snow clearing, because the same team comes to the same plot all year round.

You do not need to know what the job is called to book it. Most customers get in touch with a description or a photo – "the grass is knee high", "the hedge has grown into the neighbour's garden", "the birch blocks the sun" – and we translate that into concrete tasks, hours and a price. On larger plots we are happy to come out for a free site visit first.

  • A single job: one clean-up, one felling, one hedge trim before summer.
  • Recurring help: mowing every other week, hedge trimming twice a season, autumn and spring clean-ups.
  • The full job: an overgrown plot brought back into shape, often before a sale or after a change of owner.

What does garden help cost in Stockholm?

The price is set per job rather than from a price list, because plots differ: how large the area is, how tall the grass has grown, how close to the house the tree stands and how much waste has to be taken away. That is why we always send a free quote with a clear hourly rate before the work starts, in most cases within 24 hours of your enquiry.

Private individuals pay after the RUT deduction, which gives up to 50 % off the labour cost. We apply for the deduction and take it off the invoice directly, so you pay the net amount. Lawn mowing and snow clearing have starting prices listed on their own pages, so there you can work out the cost yourself before getting in touch.

How quickly can you get help in the garden?

You get an answer to your enquiry within 24 hours, and in most cases we can be on site within a few days. During peak season – May to June for grass and hedges, September to November for autumn clean-ups – the calendar is tighter, so book ahead if the job has to be done by a certain date.

Urgent jobs are fitted in as soon as we can: a fallen tree or branches hanging over a driveway come before planned visits. Call rather than email when it is urgent.

Does the RUT deduction apply to garden help?

Yes. The RUT deduction applies to private individuals for work in and around their own home, and garden work such as mowing, hedge trimming, pruning, weeding, leaf handling, planting, tree felling, snow clearing and window cleaning is included. The deduction is up to 50 % of the labour cost within your annual allowance, and it covers the labour only – not materials, plants, the service vehicle or tipping fees.

Housing cooperatives, property companies, joint property associations and businesses cannot use RUT and are invoiced as business customers, often on a seasonal or full-year contract. An individual member of a cooperative can still use RUT for work on their own patio.

Do I need my own tools, and do I need to be home?

Neither. We always bring our own tools, machines, fuel and protective equipment, so you do not have to lend anything out or buy equipment. That covers everything from mowers and trimmers to chainsaws, stump grinders and ladders.

You do not need to be home during the visit. Many customers leave a short instruction and a gate code or key box, and get photos afterwards. If you would rather walk the plot with us in person, that works too.

Which garden help is needed at which time of year?

A garden runs on a calendar, and most work is easier and cheaper if it is done in the right month. Pruning fruit trees belongs to winter and late winter, hedge trimming to the period after the birds have nested, and leaf handling to October and November.

  • Spring (March–May): spring clean-up, moss removal, pruning, planting, the first mow.
  • Summer (June–August): mowing and trimming, hedge trimming, weeding, watering in dry spells.
  • Autumn (September–November): autumn clean-up and leaf handling, the last mow, planting bulbs and hedges, tree felling.
  • Winter (December–February): snow clearing and gritting, roof snow removal, pruning dormant trees, stump grinding.

Who can order garden help – homeowners, housing cooperatives or businesses?

Homeowners are our largest group of customers, and there we handle everything from a single visit to recurring seasonal care with the RUT deduction. We also help older customers and pensioners who no longer want to climb ladders or push a mower, and relatives living in another city can order and pay for the work on a parent's behalf.

Alongside private gardens we work on contract for housing cooperatives, property companies, joint property associations, businesses and municipalities. That means whole courtyards, blocks and residential areas, with one contact person, a care plan and a report after each visit.

Common questions about garden help

Which company provides garden help in Stockholm?

Service Plus Stockholm AB provides garden help across Greater Stockholm – lawn mowing, hedge trimming, pruning, tree felling, stump grinding, planting, garden clean-ups, watering, window cleaning, waste removal and snow clearing. The company has worked with gardens in Stockholm since 2014 and can be reached on +46 73 724 17 70 or info@service-plus.se.

Can you book garden help just once?

Yes. You can book a single visit, for example a clean-up, a hedge trim or a tree felling, without committing to a contract. If you would rather have recurring help we set up a schedule for the season – mowing every other week, hedge trimming twice a year, spring and autumn clean-ups – and the same team comes each time.

What does it cost to get help with the garden?

The price depends on the area, how overgrown it is and how much waste has to be taken away. You get a free quote with a clear hourly rate within 24 hours, and the price is confirmed before the work starts. Private individuals pay after the RUT deduction of up to 50 % of the labour cost, which we take off the invoice directly.

Do you bring tools and take the garden waste away?

Yes. We always bring our own tools, machines and protective equipment, so you never have to think about equipment or fuel. Garden waste, branches and leaves are taken to recycling as part of the job; the tipping fee is listed separately on the quote because it does not qualify for the RUT deduction.

Which municipalities can get garden help?

We work in every municipality in Stockholm County: Stockholm, Solna, Sundbyberg, Nacka, Värmdö, Lidingö, Danderyd, Täby, Vallentuna, Österåker, Sollentuna, Järfälla, Upplands Väsby, Ekerö, Huddinge, Botkyrka, Haninge, Tyresö, Södertälje and Norrtälje, with all the districts and localities in between. Each municipality has its own page with areas, the most requested services and local questions.

Do you help older people and pensioners with the garden?

Yes, and it is a large part of our everyday work. We take the heavy jobs and the ones at height – ladders, chainsaws, sacks and transport – and work at a pace that suits. Relatives can order and pay for the work on a parent's behalf, and the RUT deduction belongs to whoever lives in the home.

Can you help before a sale or a viewing?

Yes. A full job before a viewing is a common request: the grass is mown, the hedges shaped, the beds weeded, leaves and branches taken away and the windows cleaned. Tell us the date of the viewing and we plan the visit so the garden is ready in time.
