Our pruning specialist Saxa works with proven methods: maintenance pruning of fruit trees in late summer, rejuvenation of older shrubs, formative pruning of young trees and topiary trimming of yew, box and ornamental trees. Hedges are handled by our hedge specialist Tuja. Proper pruning gives healthier plants, richer flowering and more fruit – and we always leave the site clean.
Pruning qualifies for a RUT deduction of up to 50% of the labour cost.

Frequently asked questions about pruning
When should fruit trees be pruned?
Apple and pear trees are best pruned in the JAS period (July–August–September) or in late winter. Stone fruit such as plum and cherry is pruned in summer only. Service Plus advises on the right time for each tree.
Can old shrubs be rejuvenated instead of dug up?
Yes. Service Plus rejuvenates lilacs, spireas, mock oranges and other shrubs by removing the oldest branches at ground level, so the shrub flowers more richly again within one to two seasons.
What happens to the cuttings after pruning?
Service Plus takes the cuttings away for recycling if you choose removal as an option. Otherwise they are left in a tidy pile on the plot.
