Winter contract: snow clearing with automatic call-outs all winter
The difference between a one-off booking and a winter contract is peace of mind: with a contract you know the driveway, courtyard or car park is cleared before you wake up, however many times it snows. During heavy snowfalls contract customers always come first.

How does a winter contract for snow clearing work?
A winter contract sets out which surfaces are to be cleared, at what snow depth we turn out (usually around five centimetres), how quickly the surfaces must be passable and whether gritting, roof snow removal and hauling away are included. After that you do not need to call: Service Plus follows the weather forecasts, turns out automatically at every snowfall and grits during freezing rain. The contract normally runs from November to April, with a price per call-out or a set seasonal price, and ends with spring grit sweeping.
What is decided in the contract?
At a free site visit we go through the surfaces and set the rules together:
- Which surfaces are included and in what order they are prioritised
- Call-out threshold in centimetres of snow and the latest time by which the surfaces must be ready
- Gritting and de-icing: automatically when ice forms or on request, and with which material
- Options: roof snow removal, icicles, hauling snow away and spring grit sweeping
- Where the snow is to be placed and what needs protecting, such as hedges, cars and flower beds
- Reporting after every visit and a dedicated contact person
- Price per call-out or a set price per season, invoiced monthly
Per call-out or a seasonal price?
A price per call-out suits those who want to pay for what is actually done – a mild winter is inexpensive. A seasonal price gives a predictable cost however many times it snows and is often chosen by cooperatives and businesses that budget annually. Both models include the same call-out rules and the same documentation. We provide a free quote for both options.
How do you know it has snowed at my place?
We follow the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) forecasts and local measurements for every part of Greater Stockholm and plan the routes the evening before when snow is expected. Snow amounts differ greatly between the coast and inland, and between Norrtälje and Södertälje, so call-outs are managed per area – not from a single measuring point.
Contracts for homes, cooperatives or businesses
Homeowners get a RUT deduction of up to 50% of the labour cost for shovelling and gritting on the plot, and the contract usually covers the driveway, paths, steps and entrance. Cooperatives get reporting to the board and consolidated invoicing. Businesses get call-out times tied to opening hours. All contracts can start at any time during winter.

Frequently asked questions about winter contract with on-call service
When does the winter contract start and end?
Normally 1 November to 15 April, but we adapt the period. Contracts can be signed in the middle of winter and then start within a few days of the site visit.
What happens in a winter without snow?
With a price per call-out you only pay for the times we come, plus any gritting. With a seasonal price the agreed price applies – in return, a snowy winter costs no more.
Can I pause the contract while I am away?
No – on the contrary, the contract is at its most valuable when you are away: the driveway is kept clear so the house looks lived in and the post gets through.
Is the winter contract covered by the RUT deduction?
Shovelling and gritting on the plot of your home qualify for a RUT deduction of up to 50% of the labour cost. Hauling snow away is not covered. Cooperatives and businesses are invoiced without RUT.
Can the contract be combined with garden maintenance?
Yes. Many customers have year-round contracts where lawn mowing, hedge trimming and cleanup are handled in summer and snow clearing in winter, with the same contact person.
